Developed at the request of many traction engine owners and users the Wheeler Steam Internal Spark Arrester is based on a design used by engine operators back in the days of commercial steam on the road round the globe. They fit neatly into the top of the chimney with the only visual part being the lugs that support and can be trimmed off after adjusting. These set screws are simply adjusted and locked to locate the spark arrester in the centre of the chimney for maximum efficiency.

Manufactured from heavy gauge steel wire (the frame is 5mm and the mesh is 4mm diameter) they are hot dip galvanised for a long service life.
