The basic time proven injector design has changed little over the years and remains a model of design, simplicity and efficiency. An automatic injector is defined as a boiler feeding pump, using the velocity and condensation of a jet of steam from the boiler to lift and force into the same boiler a stream of water much larger than the original jet of steam. These units offer some unique advantages over more costly mechanically-driven pumps, where cold water make-up is used to feed boilers.
