Morris Sentinel Crankcase Oil 25L

Morris Sentinel Crankcase Oil has been manufactured specifically for the special requirements of Sentinel steam engines, combining today's technology and materials with traditional lubrication expertise. Morris Lubricants have a long association with Sentinel and the preservation of Sentinel steam waggons, and this oil reflects that heritage. The formulation provides outstanding resistance to rust, corrosion, wear and oxidation, even in the presence of water.

One of the most significant lubrication challenges with the “S” type Sentinel is managing the large amounts of water condensate that collect in the crankcase. This oil has been developed to allow excessive water to separate rapidly from the oil and water emulsion commonly found in the crankcase of these engines. A high viscosity index ensures good flow rates to bearings and all moving parts at low start-up temperatures, coupled with good film strength and low wear rates at high temperatures.

Key Features

  • Developed specifically for the sumps of Sentinel steam engines
  • Outstanding resistance to rust, corrosion, wear and oxidation — even in the presence of water
  • Rapid water separation from oil/water emulsion — addresses the primary crankcase lubrication challenge of the “S” type Sentinel
  • High viscosity index giving good flow rates at low start-up temperatures
  • Good film strength and low wear rates at high operating temperatures
  • ISO VG 680 mineral base oil

Typical Applications

  • Sumps of Sentinel “S” type steam engines

Important Note: To ensure continued reliability it is essential to change crankcase oil annually.
